Statement from Parish Council Chairman
21 March 2020
A message from Councillor Lisa Collins, Chairman of Whitwick Parish Council
Last night the parish council put emergency measures in place so that we can continue to function, although this is in a more limited way than before. All parish council buildings are now closed to public access until further notice but in these challenging times, the role that all parish councillors and our staff will play within Whitwick and in serving our community has never been more important to us.
Our focus stays on how we can work with other agencies and share information and ideas. The Parish Council is grateful to be working in partnership with Woodstock in Whitwick to share resources and help our health workers and emergency services, our vulnerable or elderly residents, to encourage good neighbour support and for us all to help each other. Naturally this needs to be undertaken in a safe and reliable way so please bear with us as we approach local businesses and work to get matters organised. You can still contact the Parish Manager by phone or email on important parish matters (as above) – but we do ask for your patience please.
As the world continues to battle Coronavirus we would urge you to help each other where possible, act responsibly and at all times follow professional advice on how to keep yourselves safe. It is hugely important to avoid putting other people at risk.
In all of this we’ve been following the latest government advice and we will continue to do so. Local information at:

By working together with our residents, Whitwick Parish Council are confident that we all, as a community, will show common sense and kindness to our neighbours while we are under the impact of coronavirus. Keep safe.
