LAST CHANCE TO HAVE YOUR SAY ON 270 HOME HOUSING BID
5 January 2017
Local residents are being reminded to contact District Council planners without delay if they wish to express their views on controversial planning application 16/01407/OUTM for the erection of up to 270 dwellings on land at Thornborough Road which has been submitted to NWLDC by Gladman Developments Ltd of Cheshire.
Lorraine Ellis, Interim Parish Clerk, said “The original public consultation period ran over Christmas so some people may have intended to submit their views but overlooked doing so during the festivities. I’m pleased to say that the NWLDC planners have agreed a short extension to the consultation period but it’s important that anyone wishing to submit views who hasn’t already done so should get them in NOW without further delay.
“You can write to Development Control, NWLDC, Council Offices, Coalville, Leics LE67 3FJ or email development.control@nwleics.gov.uk quoting the application number. The Parish Council is urging residents to send individual communications rather than just sign a petition as these are likely to carry more weight as expressions of local feeling.”
The Parish Council has already decided to object to the application on the grounds that approval would set a precedent for further development of our protected Green Wedge and countryside; that the proposal is contrary to Local Plan policies; that NWLDC already has an adequate 5-year supply of housing land; that it would involve the loss of agricultural land and for highway safety reasons.
The full planning application and related documents can be viewed on the District Council’s website at www.nwleics.gov.uk
